Thus, we're excited to showcase Robin for our inaugural Superhero of the Month contest! Entries are due between November 1 - 20, but will be accepted throughout October. Voting will commence November 24, and the winner will be announced November 30. Be sure to check out the submission guidelines before submitting!
This month's contest is sponsored by our good friends at Dr. Volt's Comic Connection in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Volt's celebrated their 20th anniversary on September 18, 2010. Having seen many comic shops come and go over the last twenty years, Dr. Volt's has stayed a head above the rest by offering superior customer service; Dr. Volt's is about the customer. For the contest, they are offering the Red Robin: The Grail (below, left) and Red Robin: Collision (below, right) trade paperbacks for the winner!
Five individuals have taken on the role of Batman's sidekick since Robin appeared in 1940. The look of Robin has also changed considerably over the years, but a few elements have remained consistent, particularly the use of red and yellow in the costume.
10/4 UPDATE
1) After some discussion on Twitter, we're going to allow contestants to submit more than one entry. However, it has to be different characters inhabiting the role of Robin! So you can't send three Dick Graysons, but you can send in, for example, one each of Jason Todd and Damian Wayne. However, to make things fair, you can only make it into the voting round based off of one entry.
2) As you may have seen in the comments below, Carrie Kelly entries will also be accepted! This gives you six different Robins to choose from!
