Harley Quinn Results - Part III

Shen Travis
"I gave her costume sort of a dancer's vibe so she can still do her acrobatics. I adore her blonde pigtails so I kept them visible."

Joshua Walters
"I've always loved Harley Quinn, and I've always thought that when Harley made her jump to the comics there should have been a slight redesign to take advantage of that forum. For my redesign I tried to maintain some of her basic colors, but also inject more elements of color. I thought pigtails under the hood would be a great way to keep with the spirit of the first design, but also add an additional color element and, of course, the possibility of movement.  Harley is the ultimate example of girls being attracted to bad boys, and what better signifies that than a girl wearing her boyfriend's (biker/letterman's) jacket?"

  1. A redesign like this could be really exploitive, but I love how tastefully Shen pulled this off. I get the "dancer vibe" he was going for, and love the faux-pant leggings. I also love that he went with black and red ribbons in her hair, as opposed to dying it red and black (like in the Arkham City redesign), which tends to be a bit more common lately.

  2. I really enjoy the movement in Shen Travis's piece. A very nicely executed redesign in my opinion. :)

  3. I like the first one, the way everything is moving goes with the dancer inspiration. She can hide all her exploding toys underneath her skirt. I don't like that her top is just a cross string bikini with an extraneous string underneath it. You can't be a dancer if you're constantly worried that your boobs will fall out and I see no point to the string except to show off a cute heart.

The second one (while fun and quirky like Harley) just looks too thrown together. It's inventive but a bit too complicated. I love the pin but I hate the Shakespeare collar.

  4. Shen Travis: Like the action and expression. Naughty and dangerous.

Joshua Walters: Somehow I do agree with Kelly. Abit too "noisy" because of the amount of elements added to Harley Quinn. Maybe by changing the yellow dress to red, black or white might help solve the issue.
Its great to see Joker's jacket on her. Let the viewers have an idea of their relationship.

  6. I love the idea that Harley would wear the Joker's jacket.

  7. Kelly- I don't think I made it very clear but the string underneath her top is actually attached to the top, helping keep her all in. and dancers have been known to wear small things like that, at least at the recitals I have been to.
