Atom Eve Results - Part II

More goodness comes your way for our Big Shiny Robot-sponsored Atom Eve redesign contest!
Craig Payne
"I wanted to keep some of the elements of Atom Eve's original costume, like the cape and the symbol/logo. Most of all I wanted to dial back the amount of pink used; there was way too much of it in the original!"

Ross Radke
"I was tempted to change her colors and throw in a more 'elemental' aesthetic, but decided against it as it would drift away from the original design. The combination of hot- and baby-pink is a really unique color scheme. I wanted to keep all the key elements of the design, but streamline it a little. I get the impression that Atom Eve wants people to think she has a lot of confidence - her original costume looked sort of like a cheerleaders uniform - so I wasn't afraid to play up the sexiness."

What do you all think? Let us know in the comments, and be sure to check out Atom Eve Results - Part I for past entries! Submissions are due April 22, so you have plenty of time to submit; check out the Official Contest Announcement here for details. This month's prize is pretty sweet: Invincible Vols. 5 & 6, signed by artist Ryan Ottley, courtesy of Big Shiny Robot!

  1. Okay, I'm going to get this ball rolling!

@Craig - I *love* this. The black/pink combination really works. The glowing piping and atom are genius. I like how the cape is attached to her shoulders, and I love the inclusion of the miniskirt!

@Ross - Another great piece! I like how you included the atom still, since you replaced its traditional spot with a Power Girl-esque cleavage window. Interestingly enough, I find that it works, kind of giving an "I"/Invincible tie-in to the character. Subtle and clever.

  2. I like both of these also. Craig's Eve looks kickass. No way this girl would be left behind during the Viltrumite War!

And Ross' Eve is indeed no longer a teenage cheerleader. When I saw it, I thought about Power Girl also. Not that this costume resembles PG's that much. It's more the *attitude* the costume represents.

    Good job, both of you.

  3. I really like Mr. Payne's design. The glowing atom really works.

Thanks for the comments. Believe it or not, I wasn't even thinking Power Girl, I was just trying to work with the O+ symbol. It's definitely an apt comparison and I'm glad it's coming off that way and not just as fan service.

  5. Love the combination of black and pink and the facial expression of the first illustration of Atom Eve, though I don't like the steadiness of her hands.

However, I like how Atom Eve clench her fist on the second illustration and also she is amazingly hot and sexy.Plus factor is her hair.

    Thanks for sharing,
