The announcement of the Superhero of the Month & Girls Read Comics Wonder Woman redesign contest is just a few days away, and leading up to it, we wanted to revisit one of the designs sent to us.
Hector Barros has been wowing readers of Superhero of the Month since our Angel/Archangel redesign contest, narrowly missing out on claiming the top spot in our Black Cat contest back in January. Hector turned in another strong redesign for this month's Wonder Woman contest, but wanted to explain his deviation from the traditional color scheme.

Both are beautiful but, in the end, I agree with Hector -- I think he made the right call.
What do you think? Sound off in the comments below!

I agree with the statement that she has too many colors although I'd probably have stuck with primarily red rather than blue. I like the skirt although I think without boots this design is rather top heavy. Altogether a strong design.
ReplyDeleteHmm... I do agree with Hector pertaining to his WW redesign. Among the 2 versions I prefer the less colorful version of WW.
ReplyDeleteRegarding RtR's comment:
Perhaps its also the chest plate, way the hair is let down, board shoulder and color that made the top heavier than the bottom.
Personally, I like the changes he made and the original that he submitted. I liked the solid blue as new design for the character. It still said WW to me, and it had a refreshing take on some of the classic notes that made the character iconic.
ReplyDeleteThis one is still a pretty solid redesign, but there is something about the red and blue not working as well on this design.
Great choices, and kudos for sharing more insight into your design Hector!
Really neat. It's still obviously Wonder Woman, but with an outfit that's much more Grecian and martial and less American flag.
