We're back with another fantastic entry for the
Superhero of the Month/Girls Read Comics Wonder Woman redesign challenge!
"I designed this with a 'year one' origin type story in mind, considering what Wonder Woman would look like when she first comes to man's world, and starts her fight against crime. I wanted to emphasize the fact that Wonder Woman, is an Amazon warrior Princess. I figure I'd take the basic colors and style of the costume, and start from an Amazon warrior point of view. I wanted the costume, especially the boots, look like it was made on Themyscira. I felt her chest plate, bracelets, and belt needed to be like armor, and not just added accessories. As for her Princess side, I made her wear her tiara as a crown with her hair up, as Princesses most of the time do. I feel this gives her a more mature, regal look to her character."

Very nice, Johansi! I like the tiara, and pretty much the whole uniform. The chest plate and bodice torso deal are all cool to me. You've got a solid looking design.

ReplyDeleteI agree, there's a lot to love about this design. Personally I love the top; the cap sleeves are something I don't think we've seen before, and the high neckline is a great idea. The eagle chest piece is also incorporated really well.
ReplyDeleteHey, Nice work. People look at wonder woman like some sort of sex symbol, which is fine. But they seem to forget she was an Amazon woman, and this picture actually makes her look like it. It also makes her look like a badass.
