Darth Vader Results - Part 4

Welcome back! Thus far we've had a lot of post-Foreman Grill incident Vader's, but we've not seen any interpretations of what Vader may have looked like if he'd ditched his Jedi robes before visiting Mustafar. That is, until now:

EmmJ

"Darth Vader isn't a superhero. Why, he's not a hero at all! But then I remembered that during the Clone Wars, Anakin was known as the Hero Without Fear. So maybe things go differently for young Anakin. Maybe he doesn't turn to the dark side (so quickly). Maybe he runs around the galaxy saving kittens from trees and Twi'leks from Hutts and so forth. The costume was inspired by Superman's classic superhero spandex, Clone Wars Anakin's Nelvaan tattoos, and the pretty glowiness that is Force lightning."

Also, a couple more post-Mustafar Vaders!
Xerina
"In Revenge of the Sith, Anakin is way to skinny for the Darth Vader suit. So for this design I choose to go on a really post-Mustafar burning, when Anakin was still in his 20's, and make a design based on the original suit and mix it with a younger design. Some details and parts of the original design are kept, like the lightsaber, cape, the tight skinned suit, mixed in with new concepts, like a chest plate, shoulder pads and a more modern mask. Something in between the Sith apprentice he is suposed to be, and the Dark Lord of the Sith he is going to become."

Peter Dora
"I wanted to keep some things from the original, such as the mouth shape. It makes his face look like a skull and keeps him nice and evil. I felt like he would probably be wearing a slightly more armored suit, though. His original is rather simple and I love details, so I went that route. I also wanted to portray that most of his limbs were mechanical, but not so much that they stand out as a separate piece. In my mind, it seems like Vader would have been a much quicker character, especially after seeing how lightning fast General Grievous was, and he was all mechanical. The cape keeps him grounded as Vader, as well."

  1. I'm surprised no one has commented on these yet. I really like Peter's besides something about the shape of the cape. It really says "Empire" to me for some reason.

I also have to make a comment on how many of these designs don't have masks or his facial scars aren't completely hidden. I think that really takes away a part of the character when you show his face. It takes away so much of the mystery and so much of the symbolism. Like when look removes the mask at the end of Return of the Jedi, it's a way of showing that Vader is no longer shrouded in the dark side.
