Savage Dragon results, wrapped up in a little bow. Congratulations to Peter Fogelsong, and thanks to those that submitted to the contest!
Judging this month was done by yours truly. More on that after the jump!

A great reinterpretation and back story. There are elements of the original that are present, and don't make this reinterpretation entirely unrecognizable, but it strays so far off the beaten path that there are a breadth of story ideas that are simply beckoning for their time to shine. Well done!

This is one of those instances where I feel like a splash of color would have sent this to the top. The interpretation is fantastic, and I love how the proportions were retained, while the design of the character was radically altered. I just think that some color would have given me a fuller picture of the character, tying or possibly pulling a 10/10.

The gender-swap is a cool idea, but not enough was really given to tell us what makes this version of the Dragon different than the version that exists in comics, other than that he is now a she. That said, I do like the red/green change, and I love the dynamic of those massive biceps compared to those tiny forearms.
There you have it. This post is not 100% complete, but I've waited too long to get this up. It won't affect these standings -- it was a third-place tie -- but we'll get everything updated when that's taken care of.
As a general notice, I'm now the sole staff member of
Superhero of the Month. This shouldn't prevent things from going forward as planned at this time, and hopefully we'll have some new staff members in the very near future.
In the meantime, take a look at the
Contest Announcement for the Raven redesign challenge, and stay tuned to
Superhero of the Month for more great redesigns!
